Kazakhstan’s national clay target shooting team has achieved a historic milestone at the ISSF Junior World Championship, winning the country’s first-ever gold medal in a team event at the junior world level, according to the Ministry of Tourism and Sports of the Republic of Kazakhstan.
At the ISSF Junior World Championship, taking place from June 16 to 26, 2026, in Suhl, Germany, Kazakhstan’s female athletes claimed victory in the Trap event for junior women. The team recorded 337 hits to secure first place and stand atop the podium.
The gold medal-winning team consisted of:
- Eleonora Ibragimova
- Maria Gorun
- Milana Papchikhina
The championship has brought together 778 athletes from 63 countries. Kazakhstan is represented by a team of 13 shooters, competing in both individual and team events.
This gold medal marks the first title in the history of Kazakhstan’s clay target shooting at the ISSF Junior World Championship, highlighting the high standard of preparation of the country’s young athletes and their continued success on the international stage.
